Phoebe Philo Former Celine Creative Director to Launch Namesake Label

Phoebe Philo‘s namesake fashion brand is gearing up for its fall launch, it seems. First announced in July 2021, it was originally meant to debut some time in early 2022. There would be no news about the project until February 2023, when @phoebephilo announced on Instagram that the inaugural collection would launch on phoebephilo.com in September 2023.

The collection will reportedly span ready-to-wear and accessories, with WWD reporting that there will be 150 styles at launch. It’ll be direct-to-consumer, shipping to the U.S., U.K. and Europe. WWD also reported that Philo’s reuniting with Daria Werbowy (a frequent collaborator from her Céline days) for the inaugural campaign. 

Phoebe Philo is a British fashion designer born on April 1, 1973. She is renowned for her minimalist and sophisticated designs that have garnered widespread acclaim and a devoted following. Philo first gained recognition during her tenure at Chloe, where she served as the creative director from 2001 to 2006. Under her guidance, Chloe experienced a significant resurgence, and her designs were praised for their femininity, elegance, and modernity.

In 2008, Phoebe Philo became the creative director of Celine (now known as Celine without the accent), a French luxury fashion brand. During her time at Celine, she revolutionized the brand and became one of the most influential figures in the fashion industry.
